Book Talk

The Devil in the White City

By: Erik Larson

This narrative none fiction is an amazing story that fallows two real people who loved in the late 1800’s. The first person that is introduced in this book it a man by the name of Daniel Burnham. Burnham is a young architect who is selected to design the Chicago’s World Fair. He is under a lot of stress to make it perfect and not to fail. The second person is a man named Dr. H.H. Holmes. Holmes is a young doctor who is the owner of a pharmacy on the out skirts of Chicago’s city limits. At first sight Holmes is a young handsome man with good people skilled. But as you read on you will fined out that Holmes is not the nice young man he aperies to me.

I highly recommend this book for anyone who likes to read a bout historical events and crazy murder mystery. There are never any dull moments in this book. I’m sure ever on who reads it will love it.

  1. This sounds like a very interesting read. I like that it has both history and a mystery to it, and that it has to do with Chicago is even better! I might have to check it out.
